WHYcast – the weekly podcast for all things WHY 2025

WHYcast is a volunteer‑produced audio show released **every Friday**. It’s your front door to **WHY 2025**, the 10th Dutch hacker camp taking place 8 – 12 August 2025, about 42 km north of Amsterdam.

What’s inside?

Each episode delivers about 30 minutes and every episode tries to talk about:

news and milestones from the 42 organising teams
interviews with team leads, villages, makers and speakers
open calls for “angels” (on‑site volunteers) and longer‑term roles
sneak peeks at talks, workshops, CTFs, art installations and family activities
flashbacks to previous Dutch hacker camps, complete with archive audio/video

WHY 2025 in brief

Outdoor hacker camp with tents for sleeping, talks, workshops and art
3 000 – 4 000 international visitors, including a dedicated Family Zone
42 volunteer teams cover everything from power and fiber to welfare and badge design
Everyone on‑site can join the angel rota: heralding, A/V, kitchen, parking and more
Villages by theme or country are welcome—start your own or join an existing one

How to get involved

**Before the camp:** Pick a team via the Vacancies and join their chat or mailing list.
**At the camp:** Drop by **Heaven** (the volunteer hub) to pick up short angel shifts.
**Creative talents:** We still need CC‑licensed jingles and stingers for podcast segments.
