DUTCHPICKNICK - Friendly Nerds from the east of all over the Netherlands
A short introduction of our village Dutch Picknick: Our village has been formed in 2005. A group of friendly Nerds of the east of the Netherlands decided to visit their first Hacker experience. Ever since the village, Dutch PickNick has visited the events with a core group of people, growing over time. Our village is focused to be a heaven of tranquility and peace. A place to call home during the hacker event, to discuss IT stuff, work on projects, play CTF while on the camp, or just relax in between sessions.
Rules of the Dutch PickNick
To ensure a smooth village experience we have made up some simple rules:
- To join our village you have to be connected to us in some way or shape, you get introduced thru any of the members.
- Some music is allowed, but after midnight we do respect quiet time. So no loud music/noises from (0:00- 10:00).
- You pledge to behave, be nice, help out, and obey the rules. If you have a task assigned to you but you can't make it? You arrange for a replacement yourself.
- Beer, wine & soft drinks are paid for separately with a bar card. You buy these from the treasurer and keep them yourself. Milk & Juice during breakfast and lunch are included, outside lunch and breakfast they are considered soda (1 box).
- Food & Drinks are for use by the Dutch PickNick villagers only. The supply of 42 humans for 5 days is a challenge in itself and during the camp supplies are difficult to replenish. Occasionally offering someone from outside the village a beer on your bar card is allowed of course, but if you want more or plan to make it a night out ask them to bring some themselves.
- Put things you borrow from the village back afterwards.
- We treat each other with respect with respect to the COVID rules.
The village elders will decide on any disputes or conflicts if needed... their decision is final. And lastly... Be AWESOME and ENJOY yourself!!
Why rules: We learned the hard way in 2017 at SHA 2017 that as we grow we need some simple rules to prevent conflicts.
