What is a tiny task?

The tiny tasks page is now on the WHY wiki! Here’s what it’s for:

  • delegate simple tasks to anyone willing to help ahead of the event without commiting a lot of time. This is mostly for people who are not in orga but orga can participate long as it does not interfere with:
  • free up time for orga members to avoid burnout and allow them to focus on more complicated tasks.
  • introduce the organization to people who are not yet sure if an orga position suits them.

How to post your tiny task

Consider the following when posting a task:

  • Use a descriptive title.
  • Add a contact person who can clarify the parameters of the task.
  • Add the name of the teams that will benefit from this task.
  • Your task might not get finished by a volunteer. If your task has a deadline, it may be wise to resolve the task within the team if there’s no volunteers responding.
  • If your tiny task is fun to do, you might win over a new orga member for your team.
  • Avoid complexity and lengthy tasks. You might achieve this by placing smaller assignments that can be added to your personal, lengthier project.
  • Thank your volunteer!
  • If a tiny task was completed with minimal hassle, add this tiny task under ‘Examples’
  • If a tiny task was completed, remove it from the active list unless it is a recurring task.
