Shuttle Service
Introduction
- Provide a shuttle service between the train station and event venue for visitors who travel by train.
- Schedule driving shifts
- Drive according to a schedule during busy hours
- Publish the shuttle schedule on the wiki
- Drive on-demand when it’s quieter; be reachable by phone for receiving requests
- Post phone numbers in relevant places
- Transport visitors luggage (note that not everybody wants to use this service)
- Establish pick-up points at parking and wherever the train shuttle drops people off.
- Establish drop-off points that are shielded from rain, where people can have their luggage delivered.
- Deliver things at the correct drop-off point.
- At the end of the event, reverse operations: drop-off points become pick-up points and vice versa
- Make the pick-up and drop-off points visible, and shield them from rain.
Shuttle Schedule
The shuttle does not run to a timetable and instead provides a number of vehicles with drivers depending on the projected demand.
During arrival and departure days, we aim to have all shuttles running at full capacity.
During the event, we aim to have coverage from 9am to midnight (subject to driver availability) and operate the shuttle on demand.

Shuttle Locations
The shuttle is from Alkmaar Station to the Parking Area (shuttle drop-off zone).
Specifically; the station pick-up/drop-off location is on the North Side (near the P&R) in the drop off bays. Co-ordinates: 52.6384529,4.738036
We will provide appropriate signage.
Vehicle Charging
We have discussed with NUTS and should have capacity to charge shuttles at 7.4kWh in the parking area. When not in use, shuttles will be charging and should be able to do 10-12 round trips (conservatively) before needing to be recharged. This should provide us with enough capacity to run all shuttles during the peak periods.
We can also DC-fast charge should we need to top up a van quickly, but we'll aim to avoid that where possible as it's expensive.
