Do you want a pin of the WHY2025 logo? Because I want one!
The want:
I love having personal flair on all my event and work badge lanyards and I'm not at the minimum of 15 pieces of flair yet , and we all know how we think about people who do the bare minimum (or even less). Also I like to show to the world that I am a WHY minded person: so I want to order enamel pins of the WHY2025 Logo. However, pins are a bit more expensive than stickers and I can't afford to give away large quantities of pins for free.
The Plan:
However, pins are a bit more expensive than stickers and while I am able to pony op the money up front. I can't afford to give away large quantities of pins for free. My plan is to get a decent quantity of 100-200 made in the very near future, hopefully before the December Orga Meet Up or 38C3, and sell them at cost. I am in the process of getting quotes from vendors but I expect the price to be somewhere around € 2,00 to € 5,00 a piece depending on the order quantity. Sales and distribution I have yet to figure out but likely via Hackerspace post and on events, with payments via Tikkie, SEPA, maybe even paypal or old school cash.
Next steps:
I will update this page with more details such as price and order dates along the way. If you are really interested, please put your name and the amount of pins or the amount of money you'd be willing to spend here below so I can gauge order quantities. Especially if you want multiple pins.
Updates:
- 08-11-2024: The price is looking to be reasonable. First quote is in and based on an order of 200 pcs the price comes to € 2,02 per pin (29mm big).
- 11-11-2024: First Order of 200 pins is confirmed. These will be 'cold enamel' style, which is more of a printing like appearance.
- 11-11-2024: A second vendor has quoted a price for 'hot enamel' style, these are nicer, but also much more expensive at €4,35 per pin when ordered in a 200 quantity. Dropping closer to the €2 mark (which I find reasonable) when ordering 500+ pieces. For now doing an advance order for around a €1000 is too rich for me. So I leave that in reserve for the future or defer it to the Merch team.
- 11-11-2024: Expected delivery date for the first batch is beginning of December.
