Opening the meeting
Boekenwurm started the meeting right on time, the agendais explained. The group in the new Hacklot big room is about 70 people. All teams seem to have a represented off.
Agenda and General Announcements
Boekenwuurm opens with an agenda, explaining the items on the agenda. She opens up the meeting with explaining that there will be two general items, and the status of the teams (42). First things first, the first announcement from IFCAT is that we are on track. On the orga maillist the board asked for feedback on the policy document. We will continue to try to obtain this. With this announcement she asks for questions from the room, there is one question, what is the timeline. The current timeline is that we are going to continue on, and we aim to finish this within 3 months, but it's up to the tax autority in the end.
The next general announcement there are now banners (2 on stage) and there are new stickers. Some items are explained, but one big request, please please please make a sure you enter your contact information on the Wiki of WHY. We need to be able to communicate, so update the wiki. At least an e-mail adres.
Team:Terrain
RedLizzard on the stage shares the terrain developments. He showed the pictures (in the slidedeck) from just after the Liquicity. The field was destroyed and the heavy teardown machinery. RedLizzard shares some of the worries they had. However doing some research on the past weather, it turns out that this year is freaky wet. There has been exceptional wet year, this has nog happend in the last 10 years. Stich has some drone footage to show the field, and aial pictures.
So the expectation for 2025 the field will be beter than we had this year. RedLizaard explains the useage of the field during liquicity, and he points out some of the issues we see. However if the weather is not as wet, then these fields will be in way better shape next year. The good news is that we will be able to recycle from the festival next year. The SpiegelStage will propbably be recycled, and there are bridges that will be re-used for our event.
The first design, from before the field visit, turned out not to be the best. Family will be in the mudpit. Last week we met up again for the 2e design of the fields. The quiet and loud area's are switched. Fields are getting interesting names, like Dessert and Badlands and Boneyard. The boneyard will be used as a place to store stuff from logistics, like empty crates, the forklift. The quiet area will be on the north east along the woodline. Just check out the field layout 2.0 (insert link here).
Lots of explaining on the field design version 2.0 and RedLizzard shows version 2.0 (in the slides). This is a draft, RedLizzard is asking input from all the teams thru the maillist. His 15 minutes are up. In the questions section the overflow field are explained, but there is no plans for these field. It's really a plan B at this point.
Question: Is there locations allocated to specific teams/initative. Like the Arcarde. Anwser: Yes and now, if you go and checkout the fysical map later. But our current focus is the big picture, the large stages (3 of them). So no final location for the arcade at this point.
Team:Huisstijl
The much anticipated huisstijl is released. It was much anticipated. Boekenwuurm explains the huisstijl, and explains that there might be tuned, but this is final at this point. Please go and use it, go wild and build your stickers. There is one request: Keep in bounds of the Huisstijl design guidelines. And we love to see a lot of interesting stickers, logo's, exploration of the design in your use. Call for action, use the NEON effect and colors. Keep in mind that we design this for the 80's style, like mentioned go have fun.
Call for volunteers
We are still looking for a lot of volunteers that are needed to create an awesome event. Not intented for the people here, because most of the people here in Hackalot are already involved deeply. BUT the call to action is to get your friend, hackerspacebuddy's and anyone without a life involved to spread the load of organizing this event to as many people as we can.
