So, you want to become an angel...

It's not hard, and we really need you! Without volunteer 'angels', WHY2025 would not be possible. An angel shift is usually about two hours long and is a great way to meet new people, get to know more about camp and earn a free brunch or dinner.

Registration and shifts are managed in our Engelsystem. When we get closer to the start of camp you can find information on shifts and about special tasks for angel types that require some extra introduction. During camp our angels meet in Heaven, a large tent on the campsite. This will be the place you can get more info, your angel badge, meet other angels and enjoy your well earned dinner.

So, how to become an angel:

  1. Register as an angel in the online Engelsystem - angel.why2025.org. You can do that right now and save yourself the hassle of having to do it at camp. Also, this will allow us to send you announcements.
  2. Take a look at the angel-types mentioned in the Engelsystem, maybe you want to join an introduction so you can help with a specific task?
  3. When you arrive, drop off your stuff, set up camp and go to Heaven. Inform us about your arrival and get your angel badge.
  4. Log into the Engelsystem, pick a shift. Maybe pick more than one... and start helping.
  5. Congratulations, you're an angel and an important part of WHY2025!

Buildup and Teardown

If you want you can arrive early and play a part in the buildup of our beautiful camp. The first days of buildup there will be work for only a few specialized people, and almost no facilities. The later days are more busy, a lot of people are needed and there will be some facilities. We need people for all types of jobs, such as raising the WHY flags, decorating, moving things from the warehouse to https://wiki.why2025.org/Villages, rolling out datacables, putting up chairs, cooking for buildup volunteers etc etc. You will be instructed on the job. Volunteers that arrive early can come to Heaven (one of the first locations on the campsite) and we connect them to teams that need workers. Only people that are participating in buildup are welcome. Other visitors are to arrive at day 0.

At https://wiki.why2025.org/Timeline you can see on which date we expect to start. The planning will be less structured, you can follow the blog at https://why2025.org/Blog and our page at https://wiki.why2025.org/Team:Volunteers.

If you're willing to stay a little longer after the camp has ended, many hands are needed during teardown. Again, Heaven will be the place to get in touch and see where help is needed.
