Mailinglists
Mailinglist are one of the primary ways to communicate within the WHY2025 orga. We use an selfhosted mailman instance for the mailinglist. Mailman is open source
For those unfamiliar with mailinglists, this is the way to subscribe:
Main orga mailing list
The main orga list is the main place for announcements, for general organisation questions to all orga members, and the place where orga meets are announced. it can be found here
The subscription is in two parts,
- the filling in of the web form
- clicking on the button in the subscription link.
The only datafield the The default option is all mails are being send to your account. If you want to reduce the amount of mails you receive, you can chose the digest option, then you get all mails of that day in one summary mail.
Teams mailing list
Some teams have the option to contact them via their mailinglist. An overview of all teams who have a mailing list can be found here overview list. Please check the team's wiki page on their preferred contact method.
The teams mailing list subscription pages are by default the default subscription page. This means it has more fields. However, those are all optional, the process is the same as the orga mailinglist.
Don't forget to click the link and the conformation in the first mail you get.
For mailing list owners: simplify subscription
If a mailing list owner wants to simplify the subscription process, this can be done by adapting a HTML file from the administrative interface. You need to adapt the "General list information page" to reflect this
